Children Photography

Photographing kids is not easy.  I think anyone who has ever tried can attest to that.  They never look in the direction that you want them to and they are certainly not interested in staying still for even for a few seconds while you adjust your settings and find the perfect composition.  Is there such a thing with kids?  Sometimes you’ll be lucky to even get the picture in focus.  But it’s actually a challenge and a blessing because it really forces you to focus on the raw moments rather than the posed shots.  When they are mesmerized by a new object (or animal) or focused on conquering a new toy, when they are hysterically laughing at the silly thing that their mom or dad just did, when they are having fun with their siblings or friends, etc.

I often chase around my 1.5 yr old with my heavy camera gear in hopes of finding those sweet moments.  And when I do, it is sweeeet!
