[children, family] Sam
I’ve thought long and hard about what to say on this very personal post. This is the first time that I’ve cried editing photos because I was so overwhelmed with so many different emotions; ranging from sadness to happiness, from feeling remorse to feeling grateful, etc. I am ashamed for the insignificant things that I let bother me and for all the amazing things/people in my life that I take for granted. I am sad for all the bad things that happen to good people, and happy that despite the hard times, we can still be motivated by and learn from those around us.
Sam is a cancer patient but more importantly an inspirational woman, wife, mother, and daughter. Even in the midst of fighting cancer, she is full of strength and love for her family and friends. She is a source of inspiration for those around her and her boldness motivates you to reach out beyond your comfort zone and really live. And Love. I don’t think any photo can do this amazing woman and others fighting cancer justice. However, my goal is to show a glimpse of Sam’s overflowing heart despite her current situation to a greater audience so that more people can be motivated to live every moment to the fullest.
So for this holiday season, I challenge all of us to cleanse our hearts of any anger and resentment and just give thanks. Give thanks for our family, our friends, our homes, our jobs, etc. because the truth is many of us don’t deserve what we have. Even worse, we take a lot of it for granted. I hope and pray that at least for this holiday season, we can truly stop and think about how we can live more meaningful lives and how we can love our loved ones to the best that we can.
